On the Primary level BUDS International School Phuket is proud to offer the American Primary Common Core Curriculum framework for such subjects as English, Mathematics, Sciences and Social Studies.

In addition to these core subjects, our students will study Computer skills, History, Geography, Art, Music and Physical Education. The curricular-content for each of these subjects has been hand-picked from some of the world’s best and most successful programs.

Students at the primary-level will also supplement their core studies with further language classes in basic Thai language and culture as well as Mandarin Chinese. As an option we can also offer Italian.

Students will also spend time every day focusing on specific projects that offer real-world challenges in trade and commerce, business and practical problem-solving.

Assessment will be ongoing, based upon the U.S. Performance system, where students evidence their understanding of key curricular objectives by completing activities and work, rather than by focusing on exams. This allows teachers to track pupil progression in real-time and give them support and encouragement when needed.

We use the Keystone examination process at mid year and the Singapore examination process at the end of the school year as a means to internally assess each student performance. In the tests students will complete assessments in the core subjects. Each exam series offers valuable and detailed feedback on each student’s understanding and offers a personalized feedback on areas in which improvement is needed.
